Case studies

Legacy systems converted to cutting-edge effectiveness
IBM designed an automated process runtime engine through which Indecomm mapped, choreographed and deployed all of its internal business processes with the necessary process workflows. Indecomm has realized significant process improvements and an increase in customer satisfaction.

Distributed team, integrated development
With projects all over the world Nucleus Software needed to utilize their every development resource. The need was for a software asset management solution that was flexible, scalable and configurable to support parallel development. IBM Rational Clear Case made this possible

A development environment as robust as a gym
Persistent required tools to design and build robust software architectures. Tools that would increase the efficiency of the product lifecycle, offer advanced functionality, performance and reliability for the client’s software development environment. With the new Rational and Lotus software, Persistent Systems can now design and build robust software architectures increasing efficiency and operational lifecycle.

Helping navigate an ocean of information
Information Kerala Mission is a flagship e-Governance project of the Government of Kerala. Requirements for the project was based on practices set by numerous Government orders and amendments, and localized practices at various Government offices. The need was to formulate document requirements to cater to analysis at varying levels of details. IBM helped realize this dream.

Providing a touch of Turbo to product acceleration
KPIT has been recognized as one of the fastest growing in the ‘Deloitte Technology Fast 50 India’ program, International Association of Outsourcing Professionals ranked it a leading player in global outsourcing. IBM makes available the complete tool chain that reduces modeling time, almost eliminates coding and thereby helps KPIT put more efforts and resources into delivering better quality.

Whitepapers

Developing areas that can lead to success
Some researches indicate that approximately 60-70% of all project failures occur as a result of poor requirements gathering analysis and management.

Benefits of IBM Rational AppScan
The need for web application security has never been greater as there are 1.4 billion people who have access to hundreds of millions of websites generating US$6.9 trillion in worldwide Internet eCommerce

Enable the agile enterprise through incremental adoption of practices.
IT organizations are struggling to do more with less. And they’re not getting a lot of encouragement. Less than 40 percent of stakeholders are satisfied with the speed of internal application development, and not even half of them are satisfied with the quality of those applications. There is no silver bullet to fix these problems; however, we can learn from other industries how to improve quality, customer satisfaction and productivity.

Transforming software development and delivery
The IBM Rational® Software Analyzer application is designed to address the needs of your organization by automatically detecting and, in many cases, correcting coding problems

Better management through process automation
The demands of good business practices, competition and government regulation constantly push companies to reexamine, update, modernize or replace their business processes

Analyst Reports

Butler Analyst Report: Rational Method Composer
BM’s Rational Method Composer, version 7.5, is a package comprising an authoring and configuring tool, a publishing tool (e.g., to HTML, PDF, Word), and an extensive content library covering processes and methodologies used in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and IT Governance. Rational Unified Process (RUP) and a core set of RUP streams are provided out-of-the-box with RMC, plus plug-ins such as RUP Business Modelling package, RUP for Commercial Off The Shelf software packages, RUP for Legacy Evolution, and many others. RMC plug-ins beyond RUP have expanded considerably, with content from IBM, such as Tivoli Unified Process, and also partners. Butler Group particularly liked the new feature, IBM Practices, a way of decoupling different process segments in the form of ‘practices’: this approach allows for maximum flexibility to fit the individual process requirements of organisations. RMC is built on the Eclipse Process Framework, and uses major parts of the Software Process Engineering Meta-model 2.0 (SPEM 2.0). RMC plays a central role in disseminating information on processes and methods to complement IBM’s ALM tools. RMC is most suitable for MLEs adopting a disciplined approach to ALM.

Gartner MarketScope For Application Lifecycle Management
Organizations modernizing application development – for example, adopting agile or service-oriented development methods – need to make corresponding changes in ALM to plan, measure and report on their development activities. This MarketScope assesses the market offerings and their providers.

Join us to learn how to leverage IBM's software, hardware and services to achieve competetive advantage.

Demystifying systems engineering problems
As Systems Engineering problems and solutions become more complex, it is harder for engineers to describe them and harder for reviewers and other stakeholders to understand the descriptions. By carefully combining textual requirements and the visual representation of these requirements using an industry standard graphical notation, more accurate and complete system descriptions are possible that are easier to understand and communicate. What is the relationship between requirements management and system modeling? How should they work together? And what are the potential benefits for different stakeholders? This Webinar and telebriefing take a process perspective to answer these questions

Its time for product managers to become inventive
During this webcast, you will hear from Alyssa Dver, Author of "Software Product Management Essentials", who will examine how and why product managers need to be more creative and strategically focused.
